"Db Visualizer, The Essential Tool To Work In Multiple Database Environments"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The ability to connect to multiple database types, multiple database connections per database, it's flexibility and ease of use, and access to all database components in an intuitive manner. When support is required, which is seldom, quick and meaningful responses are received. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Sometimes preferences are lost and need to be re-entered. Otherwise, I would like to see an ability to click on an error and see where that error is in the script being run. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"It works like a charm"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

It has a nice and intuitive interface that allows me to work with different database servers using common commands. For example, if you need to export a table, you can use the same graphical interface or the same command line, (@export) whatever you are working with Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL or MariaDB.

It is a reliable and user-friendly tool for the SQL and PL/SQL - T-SQL developer, and also for the DBA. At least, It includes common administration features for the engines I just mentioned, so, again, I only need one interface for doing my job whatever engine I'm working on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Although it includes a lot of administration features, it misses some, and so I need to perform those tasks on the tool developed by the database manufacturer. I'm referring to a graphical interface, because DBVisualizer allows you to execute any SQL script, and include variables that allow you to automatize those repetitive tasks. And you don't have to worry if the variables are defined with "&", "$" or ":", because you can also use the DBVisualizer syntax for variables, that works for all engines and is very flexible. "One of the best SQL clients: efficient, reliable and user friendly"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

Developed in Java, which makes it very easy to install and run on different OSs, as well as customize the configuration for your best fit. Supports a wide range of SQL based databases, via JDBC drivers, including all major ones: Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgresSQL, etc.

Great export options for your data and database schema, as well as support for BLOB nd CLOB.

Explain Plan works really well and provides very useful information when you need to to analyze and tune up your queries.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

Personally, I have an issue with how the the Find/Search was designed and implemented. I don't find it intuitive and continue to have trouble searching in the SQL Commander tab among multiple queries.

The license pricing is another issue. This tool is probably one of the more expensive on the market, but luckily discounts are offered for non-profit and educational organizations like ours. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The DBA's Swiss Army Knife"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVis has an excellent table/query browser with advanced display, export, filtering capability, a powerful table editor, great transaction control, great import capabilities, and tools to navigate physical database structure. One can "sling" data between databases of varying types with ease, even LARGE data sets, if necessary. It's not an ETL tool. It is a practical DBA's Swiss Army knife. The DBA functionality per-database vendor is handy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

SQL Editor tab management is a bit clunky. I would love to be able to create "throw-away" SQL Editor tabs easily. So if I close DbVis I don't want to be prompted about saving them, and I don't want them restored. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

It's a bit memory intensive, but that's manageable Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"For me the most intuitive database tool around"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The UI is simple, yet everything you need is there or can be found with little effort. All connections can be structured well and configured to what I need and how I like it. Looking through databases, peeking around or quickly changing a value is just straight forward. Open SQL tabs with queries stay around even if you don't save them. For me as a middle ware developer the balance of depth into databases and ease of use is just perfect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

I think the navigation and double clicking, clicking on icons or the labels of those icons might not always be obvious. I got used to them but finding these options may puzzle you sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Make connections to different database drivers with DbVisualizer"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

DbVisualizer is a tool that supports different database drivers such as MySQL, Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL and that is one of its advantages. One of its advantages is that it has a totally free license where you can carry out most important operations in a database. It is possible to export databases to different files (.sql, xml, html, csv, among others). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

I have never had a problem when I find myself using DbVisualizer. The only thing I dislike is that the software is only in English and cannot be translated into other languages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great at what it's good at, clunky where it's not"
What do you like best about DbVisualizer?

The wizard is awesome, and it takes no time at all to set up ssh tunnels and connect to databases. The side bar navigator is fast and easy to use. The commit and rollback buttons are right where you'd expect and it is all really smooth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about DbVisualizer?

The auto complete feature is really the only problem I have with it. Turning on auto display is terrible as it is always in the way, seeing a show delay is even worse because it adds things to the query you weren't even expecting. I finally just started using the hot keys to call it and that is the best so far, but there is room for improvement for sure Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
