What do you like best about CoderPad?

- We use CoderPad for interviewing candidates. I found it to be reliable and syncing interviewees' answers are also prompt.

- My favorite functionality is the lookback function, where I can see when I vs an interviewee engaged on the screen. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

- My least favorite functionality is the "Private Interviewer Notes" section, I don't find it to be very useful and it ends up taking up a lot of screen space. I always had to minimize the section and re-adjust my data tables on the left. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

Many languages are supported, and the ability to use Vim keybindings. It's not easy to replicate a coding environment that everyone will be happy with, but making the attempt is appreciated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

It's not always intuitive for candidates to use both the coding window and the console. It would also be helpful to have a view of the question being posed when it's not suitable to have it in the coding window as a comment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Molly Lindsay of CoderPad

Scott - Thanks for the feedback. Question for you about the question posting - are you using candidate instructions?

What do you like best about CoderPad?

I find it pretty easy to use for the sorts of interviews we do. I like the fact you can load up saved questions with some starter code, the range of languages available, and the replay feature can be pretty useful sometimes Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

We mostly use CoderPad for conducting technical screening interviews so our questions tend to be fairly basic. It would be nice if we could disable the intellisense/error highlighting by default as it can be a bit too useful or even distracting sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

I like the Coderpad always "just works" with a simple pre-installed environment for C++ and Python that also allows for the execution of the interviewees code. The question bank is very useful for setting up interviews quickly in a standard manner. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

I wish Coderpad had more customization or offered alternative environments. It would be great if I was able to push up my own docker image for the environment so I could include dependencies for examples that are more realistic for my company's problems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Molly Lindsay of CoderPad

Love it - "just works" - we actually hear that a lot! I'm sharing the feedback about the alternate environments with our Product team. Thank you for picking CoderPad!

Interactive

No Lag

Can record the coding experience

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

I mainly use it for doing SQL interviews. People are using different SQL formats to write query. Is it possible CodePad can help us identify whether their query can run or they are using the right format by specific SQL type? Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

We like to be able to collaborate, watch, and hear the candidate work through the coding challenges. It helps us all understand the mindset for each problem. After we got setup, it was easy to use and start-up right before an interview! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

The downside starting out for us was getting set up. It was cumbersome to start, and we lost some of our initial coding challenges and never figured out where they went. We would like to see improvements on the user interface. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Molly Lindsay of CoderPad

Jay - Thank you for the kind words. We agree, collaboration is key and we're so glad you're using it to get to know your candidates better and work through challenges together.

We would love to hear your thoughts on the UI. If you would be interested in having a quick phone call to share more details, let me know and we'll line up some time together.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

- It is running very fast and responsive

- It allows code to compile and run, which is not possible in many other alternative platforms

- It allows interviewers to write down private notes, and it records the whole process Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

- It is expensive, especially for small companies. I would suggest to have some lite version with limited functionalities for small companies.

- It would be better to also provide drawing pad, which will be helpful for describing questions better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Mike Kochis of CoderPad

Victor - thank you for the review, and we're so glad you are using CoderPad to qualify tech talent. I do want to make sure that you know about drawing mode, which can be used as a virtual whiteboard, and will also be saved to the interview. I'll link to the docs here, but let me know if you want some time with us to walk through it.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

Quick to setup, easy for the candidate to get into the flow. Full feature development enviroment with analysis, static checking etc. Makes it a much more natural experience rather than a simple shared word doc for example Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

Would be interesting to have other static analysis tools available, for example we do a lot of embedded C code, and it'd be great to have the likes of cppcheck or even PC-Lint integrated into the tool to bring it closer to reality Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

I used CoderPad to prepare for coding and system design interviews, and I found it a beneficial tool. The interface was intuitive and easy to use, and I appreciated the ability to collaborate with an interviewer in real time.

One of the things I liked most about CoderPad was its functionality, with great support for iOS coding. It offered all the tools and features I needed to complete my practice interviews, including syntax highlighting, automatic indentation, and the ability to run code directly on the platform. I also appreciated the whiteboard feature, which is excellent for preparing for a system design interview. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

The whiteboard feature needs some improvements for better usability. Usually, I found it difficult to modify existing drawings during interviews. It would be great if CoderPad allowed users to group & ungroup shapes, and the groups could be draggable (similar to Lucid charts). Also, it would be even more helpful if we could export or import some drawings or pictures from a local computer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Molly Lindsay of CoderPad

Xianzheng, thank you for the kind words. It's all about collaboration, and we're glad you're getting a read on your candidates. I hear you on drawing mode, I will be sharing this with our team.

What do you like best about CoderPad?

I found it was pretty easy to get started and that candidates didn't have any issues. Seeing the updates in real-time as week as having some private notepads was great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CoderPad?

I wish that there were tests that candidates could run to test their code. Also the place where you are looking to move questions into livepad was could us some UX improvements to make it more clear. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Molly Lindsay of CoderPad

Hayden - thanks for the good feedback and ways to improve. I'm sharing with my team now.
