What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

This is the easiest CDN service - in all ways. The interface is easy, friendly, and minimal. It gives you everything you need, and quickly. What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Things get a little confusing if you want to route your site through cloudflare without necessarily using their hosting. This isn't typical, but as per customer demand (yuck), things got a little hairy. Not the brute frce type of service people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

So with Google ranking https sites higher than http sites, CloudFlare is a no brainer. It's not "full on" ssl, but close enough and you get that pretty little green lock without having to buy an ssl certificate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"How to use the CloudFlare CDN to improve scalability"

What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

The kind of applications you have to build or support nowadays have to be designed to be highly scalable.

When it comes the time to improve the performance of any app that loads lots of assets such as scripts, css files, images, etc. you have to think on a way to reduce the stress on your hosting / vps / web server.

The best way to achieve that is to cache all the files that won't be changing or that are less likely to change through time and let those be loaded from another place.

CloudFlare is the perfect solution to do this since it's easy to use, and you need no advanced knowledge or any complicated setup than doing some DNS changes in your hosting. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Caching is good, but if you don't clear the cache after you do some changes and if you don't push those changes again to the CDN you will have a lot of headaches. Some time ago clearing the CloudFlare cache didn't use to do the trick right away and you had to way even hours to see the changes reflected, but they are getting better in solving that. Recommendations to others considering Cloudflare Application Security and Performance:

If you are building a large system where performance and scalability are major issues yes, you have to use CloudFlare. They also provide some other useful solutions besides CDN but that's the one I have found to be more useful. Have into account that you will have to design a process while deploying to detect if certain asset changed and has to be pushed once again to the CND and to clear their cache, but that's some small work knowing the advantages it has. They have a client API that will make so easy for you to purge the CloudFlare cache and the preloader cache so no worries at all, just ready the docs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Scalability. If you want to reduce the stress on your hosting you have to cache all the assets you can in a CDN so those are not loaded at the same time as your app / web site, but from a third party location. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

It is very easy to use and you can have it running in a matter of minutes. Furthermore it is very reliable and does its job. It really speeds up your website by caching static data, also stop some attacks and provides an easy way to make your site available over a secure connection. A few users of my websites reported that sometimes you have to complete a captcha to have the access granted. I guess that happens when the CloudFlare AI tags a regular user as a threat. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Make sure you have some subdomains going around cloudflare, so you can have remote access to ftp and database. Also be sure you optimize your website. What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Ease of use is the first thing that comes to mind. We get access to Cloudflare through our hosting provider's cPanel interface. After activating this feature on our server and updating the DNS entries, we were up and running in less than 15 minutes, which is pretty amazing.
