1. Maintenance and deployment flexibility via API and Terraform

In a less developed organization with no logging aggregation tools to use Cloudflare logs, analyzing data to determine thresholds can be difficult, since built-in dashboards are insufficiently targetful for things like speed limitation or bot management. What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Deploying Cloudflare on your domain takes minutes, the peace of mind is priceless.

To install Cloudflare, you enter the domain name, choose the plan and then Cloudflare scans the zone for known hosts, such as all the commonly used cPanel records. These are presented to you to review and then add your own records.

Once you have your zone setup on Cloudflare , change your nameservers to the two provided to you by Cloudflare and you're done. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

manually checking a large zone for missed records in the initial scan can take a while. By that I mean you can scan your zone and commonly used records are scanned quickly and easily, but anything that's custom or bespoke in terms of A-Name or C-Name records have to be entered manually. I'd like to be able to enter the hostname and have them look them up easier.

I understand you can import a zone file, which I have not done yet - so that might help as long as you have access to the existing DNS.

Many times we're setting up cloudflare and then having to co-ordinate with an existing 'admin' who won't relinquish access, that can cause issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Massive Global CDN, And You Can Get It For Free!"

What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Cloudflare's massive global CDN really got me into using Cloudflare. This, in turn is quite surprising as, CDN's are all over the world and also from countries you would not expect any company would have a server. This made our site double its speed as there are more servers dispersed for a customers location that served the cached files from our site.

I am also impressed with Cloudflare's security features. Even with the Free Tier, you have 5 Firewall rules and 3 Page Rules, which is enough to secure the most critical pages of your site.

Lastly, I am shocked at how it offers more features, and even enabled for the Free Tier which adds up more speed to our site, like their, minification feature for js, css and html, brotli compression for https and the Cache Everything option on Page Rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

You could not use a custom ssl with your domain on the browser settings with Free Tier, you need to upgrade to one of the paid plans. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Best Way To Protect And Speed Up Your Site"

What do you like best about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

Cloudflare helps our site in many factors.

First, it speeds up our site with their CDN's globally, which caches our static files and even cacheable dynamic files to forward to our visitors without the need of getting it from our servers. It also speeds up our site even more with the QUIC protocol, Brotli compression and js, css and html minification feature.

Secondly, it protects our site with its Firewall rules which we have set to compliment with our site. It also protects our site by hiding its real IP from prying eyes.

And lastly, it also has some great additional features we use such as Free SSL, Page rules (to further enhance a page speed and security), its DNS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Cloudflare Application Security and Performance?

100 mb upload for free tier is not that great if your site is already huge, with backups way above 100mb. There is a way anyhow, just by using the direct IP of your server in File Manager or FTP. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The perfect DNS Management Solutions: Fast Propagation Time"

I like the fact that the propagation is really fast: we experienced this at the company when we had to include a recently purchased domain name. The change was almost instant. I believe that it could be an issue if you want to have 3rd party cybersecurity resources (who will require to mange your DNS) while at the same time using CloudFlare DNS.
