As RDS allows parameter group, we can tune DB parameters easily, most of them without DB instance reboot, which worked really great during some of our incidents.

We have a kubernetes cluster and we use RDS to provide a relational database to each application deployed on the cluster. we take advantage of the multi-zone potential that RDS offers and the possibility of autoscale that RDS offers us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Amazon Aurora?

there are no overheads on building the database instance and maintaining it. aws makes it very easy to implement the database instance and terminate if we decide to not use. we can also stop the instance temporarily, which helps save the cost. we can start with a small instance and easily scale up as the load increases. security patches are managed by aws, which is convenient. backup for the rds can be scheduled in the console itself. support is available instantly in aws, which gives us a confidence. What do you dislike about Amazon Aurora?

aws does not provide a console based sql client, hence we have to depend on a third party client to access the aurora database. otherwise, i dont see any issues with using aurora. integration with the client is easy though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
