Collector is amazing!... When it works. It's such a powerful tool for data collection and data sharing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ArcGIS Field Maps?

Collector is amazing!... When it works. It's such a powerful tool for data collection and data sharing. The problem is all of the bugs... sync issues, couldn't update feature issues, the app crashes all of the time on Android, and some of the time on iOS. At the conference ESRI is so excited to present their newest, shiniest product. Please just stop. You seem to be spreading yourself thin. Please just make the products you have work, and work well. The biggest problem is that now we GIS professionals have rolled this out to field workers to "improve efficiency", but the more bugs we run into, the more time consuming their (and my) jobs become, and the field workers lose faith in the product. I like the simplistic approach to tools required to complete field data collection and editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ArcGIS Field Maps?

My main issue is that the three main platforms support by collector are not being updated and release at the same time. I also have an issue that ESRI has some very powerful solutions, but if you implement them, Collector does not support them...I.e. Utility Network data functionality is not supported in Collector or announced updates. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ArcGIS Field Maps?

I loved that I was able to train 4 fire staff at the same time. We collected a new feature, edited existing features and moved the location of existing features. All 4 staff were able to catch on fairly quickly. The app was very easy to use for them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that it gives you the option to use the exact symbology that will be used on the final product map, much easier to know if you put in the right feature and has all the options if you are trying to mark lots of different types of features and want the same symbology without having to duplicate and hopefully remember what is what by the time you are back in the office Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how simple the app is. All you need to do is create an editable web map, and BOOM! your map is ready for Collector. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ArcGIS Field Maps?

Collector is a good simple GIS data collection device for the field. It is easy to setup in ArcGIS online. It's offline mode works pretty well but does have some bugs to iron out. It's easy for the non technical user to use. It also works well with connecting to higher end survey GPS devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Still has some bugs but those will be worked out with time. It is dependent on ArcGIS Online. It would be nice if it could operate independent of AGOL Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Collector makes it easy for field workers to quickly gather data in the field, instead of recording it on paper, then filling data back at their office. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ArcGIS Field Maps?

Though it is part of the Esri's Workforce application suite, one major feedback I received from a client using it is that it would be nice if all of Workforce's applications were part of one large app. They prefer to be all in one app, instead of switching between apps -- e.g. Collector to Workforce then back.
