My name is Brett Nehls and I am a Community Manager here at G2. I live in the Houston, Texas area and a fun fact about me is that I have been to a game at all 30 Major League Baseball stadium throughout North America.
Let's hear from you! Feel free to follow the format of name, title, company, location and a fun fact, or spin it up with your own flavor :)
Hi Brett and all G2 Icons,
My name is Sheeba Thomas. I am a Digital Marketer, located in India. I am thrilled to restart here with the Icon Community activities and interaction.
A fun fact about me is that I am a fashion freak. I own lot of clothes that are high fashion but I rarely wear. Apart from this I love learning and exploring activities that offer new experiences.
Hello everyone! I'm fashionably late but glad to be here with all of you. I'm MaryAnn Kerubo currently based in Charlotte, NC and I work for an ad-tech startup where I primarily run the onboarding & tech support but wear many hats. I'm super passionate about tech (especially AI), personal development and connecting with people.
A couple fun facts about me are that my hometown is in the region in Kenya where the best marathon runners are from and I can almost always tell the difference between a planet & star just by looking at the sky!
Welcome MaryAnn!
That is such a cool fun fact! I've heard that the reason for Kenya being the home of so many great runners is because of the altitude being ideal for training. Do you think that's accurate, or is there more to it?
Have you dabbled in some distance running yourself?
Hello everyone! I'm Germán Castaño, a Systems Architect from Colombia in a big company, but I am also a consultant with startups and small businesses, helping them navigate the world of software and technology. I'm passionate about exploring new software solutions and assessing their suitability for my clients' present and future requirements. I'm thrilled to be returning to the G2 Icon program!
Hello German,
As someone who enjoys nothing more in life than trying new types of food from around the world, I have rarely had the opportunity to visit a Colombian restaurant. What is your favorite Colombian dish that I have to try next time I have the chance?
Great to be part of the G2 Icon program once again! It's almost been a year since we first started here, and I'm just as excited to continue.
Hey there! I'm Ankit. I assist brands with their market research, branding strategies, analysis, and more. In short, I help brands increase visibility and traffic that has been hard to achieve and undiscovered.
I've been using G2 for so long to research different products and features, and it has helped me in many ways.
Hey Matthew!
Walking Football, you say? I had no idea such a thing existed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1btA2IUSstI
I'd have to imagine that your instincts might kick in sometimes and cause you to take a few running steps at times. Is that considered a penalty?
Hi Brett
That is interesting feedback from the early survey results - hopefully I can provide support to G2 users!
Mostly reading the latest release notes for popular AI tools then testing to see how those new features can be translated to a work setting :)
Hey Charlotte!
You might be quite popular around here! Early returns on the survey we sent out this week say that AI is, by far, the most common subject that people want to learn more about.
Is there any particular resource or outlet that helped you learn more about implementing AI at your company?
Hey Fellow Icons!
I'm the Jim part of Jim and Rene at Tripawds - the largest support community for amputee pets and their people. As CTO of Agreda Communications and President of the Tripawds Foundation, I manage our network of 2,200+ three legged dog and cat blogs plus numerous free pet amputation resources and assistance programs.
Other hats I wear include serving as producer, and co-host of The RV Entrepreneur podcast and website administrator for various sites on the RV LIFE network, while serving select clients with premium web development and support services.
Fun Fact? Since 2007, my wife and I have traveled full-time in our RV, working from wherever we camp in our mobile HQ. I owe my lifestyle to our first Chief Fun Officer Jerry who lost a leg to cancer in 2007. We tell the whole story in our book, Be More Dog: Learning to Live in the Now.
Wow, Jim... it might only be the first official day of our re-launch, but you might win the title of "Most Interesting Life" amongst Icons. I knew that there would be a diverse range of backgrounds and industries within this group, but that, I did not expect!
I have no shortage of questions, but I'll stick to these: do you have any sort of "home base", or do you truly just go wherever your heart desires, and stay in that place until you're ready to change things up?
Hello, everyone. I'm Lucas Hilty, and I'm an instructor and project manager at Faith Builders in Pennsylvania. I consider myself somewhat past the peak of shiny object syndrome; I still love software solutions that make our work more humane and our interactions more effective, but I'm less energetic about trying new things just because they are new.
Welcome, Lucas!
I definitely relate to you on that. I am intrigued by what's new, but I'm also a creature of habit and like what I like. A small, recent example of change: the latest iOS update of the photos app. It was perfect before, why did they make it less intuitive? But, I do love that they now transcribe their podcasts and allow you to go directly to the part of the conversation that you want. I guess that's the give and take of progress.
Do you have an example of a recent change or something new that you were actually really happy with?
