Elliott – welcome!

I was just in Vegas last month. My friend and I have a tradition where we take a trip every year and do a bike ride in that city. We went out to Red Rock Canyon, and spoiler alert: it was a little warm :)

As a hiker, I assume you have been out there? Did we pick the most scenic place to ride in the area?

Hey Brandon,

I grew up just a few minutes away from Space Center Houston and my sister-in-law works in HR for NASA!

When I was a kid, me, my brother and my cousin got to be in a Space Center commercial. My cousin volunteered to ride in this wheel-like contraption that was supposed to mimic anti-gravity. But what we didn't know is that they would be shooting for HOURS. I think we finally finished at around 2am, and his equilibrium was so messed up. I guess they have more stringent child labor laws now for a reason!

Ooooo, which 3D/animation programs do the animators at your company use? In the first chapter of my career, I was a daily user of After Effects and really loved it. I created content for Jumbotrons and LED boards at sporting venues.

I'd imagine they are using Cinema 4D, or maybe something far more advanced? It's been a while since I stopped working in that world.

At our company, we focus on architectural visualizations, using tools like 3ds Max and V-Ray to really bring houses, condos, and high-rises to life. The detail we can achieve is just incredible!

Your time with After Effects sounds like such a fun experience! Those Jumbotrons must have been a blast. It’s wild how easy it is now to access cool effects—like using Adobe Express to create animations for free. It’s always great to see how many tools are out there for everyone to explore their creativity.

I love a good spreadsheet although the datasets I work these days are often to big for sheets.

I think a self certified nerd is anyone who is happiest in the detail of a topic. I can spend hours going down robot wholes like what does utm stand for in tracking links?
