Indeed, Smartsheet is effective. While I have been using MS excel since the begining of my career, it is certainly difficult to part my ways with MS excel. However, trying using the Data Shuttle, Data Mesh and Automation of Smartsheet and you'll be amazed. Unlike the automations and VBA macros we build in MS excel, the automations in Smartsheet do not get affected upon the movement of the file or the data, because of the assignment of sheet id, row link. Also, it will be effective when you would not have a large data set.

I find it a very good tool for organizing and sharing project information as well as making information accessible across our internal team. We are able to use each others sheets as templates for similar projects, share financial updates with clients, and request information from others we are working with whether internal or external to our company.

Yes, SmartSheets is what I would consider good based on being a much better solution than a traditional Excel approach where the excel approach typically turns into a monster file that eventually breaks. Plus the automation and form entry is helping at the field level to ensure work get completed and back to HQ for tracking via Dashboard.
