Like you, I also struggled with Chrome extensions at first. I found it's best to keep things simple, I just click the puzzle piece icon, keep the extensions I use daily, and remove the ones I don't need. When I want quick access, I pin my favorite extensions to the toolbar, and if I notice Chrome getting slow, I just disable the ones I'm not using right now. It's like cleaning your desk - keep what you need, put away what you don't.

In My case I use URL: chrome://extensions/ to manage the extensions, this will directly open the extension manage page
