How do i setup managers correctly

I'm not always sure what managers can see or not see in the system and still not sure if I have them setup with the correct rights to approve time off and correct time cards for their respective employees.

In portal select user and it will list users in the middle screen it will show your tabs " users and roles". On the right hand corner is Add user. You can pick and choose users from the list and assign them the role. The role will have predefined titles like Administrator, Accountant etc. After that you click on the arrow pointing to your right and it will give you more options of what powers you want to assign to each user.
