Can we extend the characters on the file name?

Some of our files have quiet large file names and it makes it very complicated when I am trying to drag the files. Also, when for some reason the document does not download, we do not know why. It would be great if we know the reason as to either the file size is too large or the name is too long or the format is incorrect.

I, for one, am not clear on the question here. I'm confused by the file naming question and the file size question being asked together, I don't understand the relation. Can you clarify the question? Maybe there are two separate questions here. Thanks!
