Confluent provides a platform to easily develop an event driven applications using Apache Kakfa. I like how it also allows for data seamless data integration between on prem and cloud data and how I can either join or transform my data quite easily.
The cost is a bit prohibitive for the pay per use cluster since ksqldb creates so many internal topics (changelogs, repartitions) and the pricing for managed ksqldb is very constraining, and UDFs are not supported.
Kafka is an awesome piece of technology that we can use in production, at scale, with confidence because Instaclustr has taken the hard work of managing Kafka out of our hands. Things will always go wrong, but I have complete trust in Instaclustr to fix...
the User interface is not so good had some confusing options
