Sas viya provides all the resources I need, I can develop data, visualize data and model data in one place. With everything streamlined into a single, intuitive platform, there’s no need to for me to rely on additional data processing tools. The development studio includes intelligent prompts that make writing, joining, and verifying code easier than ever. Sas Viya is a gift that keeps giving. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much to dislike about SAS Viya, but there are still few improvements that I expect in the upcoming versions 4, I heard process flow maps are back! and i am excited to see the improvements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like that SAAS Viya is powerful to handle lot of data and complex analytics. Its good for getting deep insights especially if you are already familiar with SAAS. the way it integrates different analytical tools is also a plus, making it easier to work through the whole project. The main thing I didn't liked is that it can overwhelming for the new users. That's a big learning curve if you are not experienced with SAAS. Sometime the interface feels a bit complex. It feels like its build for bigger team or project, so for smaller tasks, it might be little extra. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SAS Viya, among analytics tools is one of the best. I personally prefer GUI in doing analysis. Their recent updates allows SAS running on different platforms like visual studio.
Additionally, it offers variety of options to visualise my data sets apart from the analytical options it offers.
Also, it provides useful project resources to practice on. There are also a bunch of communities on which you can communicate with real experts in the fields you're working on. When you use SAS Viya, there is no way you can be left out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It requires internet connection to run it that I find expensive when I work outdoors because WiFi is not readily available in our place. The saved work also can be confusing because it is a mess when setting up directories of saved works at first. But through the months of using it, I kind of figure out how to do it easily. - Extensive suite of tools for data preparation, analysis, reporting, and automation.
- Clean and organized layout, with clearly separated micro tools that enhance productivity.
- Powerful dashboard capabilities with high customization potential and interactive elements. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
- The platform can be quite complex for new users, with a steep learning curve.
- There's limited access to free resources and open documentation, which makes self-learning more difficult compared to other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use SAS daily. When dealing with large datasets and trying to get to an insight in a quick way, SAS Viya is the tool that will get you there. The platform allows multiple languages to be used. It has a multitude of applications and integrates perfectly with external applications and data sources. You will find great support and documentation available when learning it and when you need to refer back to expand your knowledge. It was a straightforward process to implement new developments and get started with totally new concepts to me when I started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside of the platform is the number of variations you will find in the environment configuration. When deciding over millions of variables to setup for your scenario is it difficult to decide before actually experiencing the outcome. You may have to revisit a couple of times those settings, and this is the case every time you have a new majorly different project. I also have not enjoyed being bothered by variables in syntax and differences when you are dealing with code that never looks the same - try coding SAS, executing a PROC SQL, PROC FEDSQL, or running some CASL, it all looks like it should be simpler than it is. Being able to access open source software AND SAS seamlessly in a variety of "notebook" formats. Logging in is good, the "sidebar" of how to and examples is great. The ability to choose the number of "cores", etc. is good. I like the notebook like integration of visuals and tables. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think sometimes some of the traditional elements of 9.4 aren't as obviously accessible, for example a classic log. One other difficulty is understanding where different types of data are stored - I know that different data sources have different requirements, but it's sometimes difficult to discern where your created data goes or should go. I am not always sure of what size instance I should select and sometimes huge runs can take a while (not that they don't in SAS 9.4). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Compared to SAS EG whole system is available online, its very convinient to access it from literally around the globe. even we dont have to worry about whether our progress is being saved or not it will be avialble until we fresh start the web app. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Its task and wizards is not available in programming window, which makes it a little bit like a SAS EG application only. rest every other thing is beyond expectations in a good way Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SAS Viya has the ability to connect to all our data sources and makes it easy to quickly deploy models via Job Scheduler, ESP, MAS, SCR, and many others. This gives us the ability to rely less on database managers and data engineers. Which is especially helpful when creating a minimum viable product fast. The different deployment methods also give us the flexibility to integrate with our applications, provide model results real-time in stream, and to handle large amounts of data in long running scheduled jobs. SAS Viya also gives us the option to code in either SAS or Python and still take full advantage of the features mentioned above. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
SAS Viya 4.0 seems to be a little buggier than Viya 3.5 and neither are as reliable as SAS 9.4. The documentation could be better especially with explaining less used parameters. There could also be more examples for some of these parameters that aren't used as often. SAS Customer Support could be improved when creating tickets. It takes a long time to resolve simple problems just due the process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

SAS Viya have been helpful in advancing our use more predictive and prescriptive analytics. The tool suite allows us multiple ways to do everything from ETL to advanced model management. The ease of use and integration of data systems allows us to move faster in all aspects of the data product lifecycle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The number of options can be hard to think through; however, we've always received great feedback and support from SAS and the SAS community to help us make best practice decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are times when a proof of concept is being developed that does not meet the qualifications to receive prioritization. Regardless of your data engineering team's availability , SAS Viya provides the tools to push code through different environments, schedule scripts and monitor the output. Originally, I would've said, "being able to work from desktop". With the ability to work from VS code on my desktop I have since changed my thoughts.
My second issue would have also included adoption as majority of my team work with open source languages. The integration of python and R coding have also made adoption much easier, especially with new hires. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
