Frontity was an open-source framework designed for building fast and optimized WordPress websites using React. It allowed developers to create headless WordPress sites with a focus on performance and a seamless user experience by leveraging React's capabilities. The framework provided an easy setup, optimized performance, and an extensible architecture that simplified the process of connecting a React front end with a WordPress back end. As of August 2021, the Frontity team joined Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com, to enhance the performance of WordPress-based applications, and the original framework is no longer actively maintained.
