Adapting to new tools

Getting on board and acclimated with new software is tough sometimes. Have you ever played a role in making adoption easier for your team? Or do you have a good example of a time where you were struggling with a new integration yourself, but found a way to make the process easier?

Share your wins... or your horror stories. If your situation involved an adoption without a happy ending, the silver lining is that you can help others avoid a similar fate!

Roughly two years ago after experimenting with several different project management platforms our agency finally settled on Asana. Not everyone was happy about this myself included. Our account executives use it differently from our digital marketing team who utilizes it differently from our creative services and there was a learning curve for projects that involve all those teams. Here's the thing though -- eventually we got it figured out. It involved some patience but more than that it was the off-platform dialogue in person that made the difference. When it comes to adding more software nothing beats a person to person dialogue on how to make it work because at the end of the day it's less about the tool and more about the people utilizing said tool.

I wholeheartedly agree. Task management apps are mostly just different flavors of the same ice cream, in my opinion. We all have our personal preferences and what we're used to, but collaboration and cooperation are the biggest needle moving difference makers.

Oi Ben,
