346 Virtru Email Encryption Reviews
On the admin side, it is cloud hosted and easily to implement and manage. On the user side its as simple as adding a Chrome extension and then sliding a toggle on an individual email. This allows users to send things in email that would otherwise require more cumbersome methods, so they love it. They also have great customer support when we have questions. The integration with Google Workplace is easy and doesn't require maintenance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It often has false positives detecting DLP and suggesting I encrypt those messages. I just say no and move on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We added Virtru to our organizations' Google Workspace and it was completely painless. I was up and running in minutes! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I haven't seen any downsides so far - it's incredibly easy to use and makes sure your data is protected Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy it is to use — I can send encrypted emails directly from my inbox without any complicated steps. It gives me peace of mind knowing my messages are secure, and the recipient doesn’t need to jump through hoops to read them. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the user interface can feel a bit clunky, especially when trying to manage permissions or revoke access. Also, recipients who aren't familiar with Virtru occasionally have trouble opening encrypted emails, which can cause delays Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Within the context of non-profit organization and working with many individuals reluctant to embrace new technology, Virtru's embedded email encryption solution has proven to be the simplest and most effective solution we could roll out. After more than a year of use I can confirm it was a smart decision and well worth the cost over alternative solutions offered. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My team wishes they could initiate a secure email natively from the mobile gmail app vs using the Virtru app but its certainly manageable and understandable. Also a minor, gripe but Virtru requires reestablishing credentials something at the most inconvenient times. Its an understandable need given the nature of security. I can't think of anything I dislike about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ease of this product was the selling point. We simply slide the button over to send secure documents as we need to. We have options to prevent forwarding, printing etc. In our industry that is very important to ensure we maintained compliance with the information we send. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes the products will automatically encrypt an email when that selection was not selected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Virtu has been helpful with securing our information as well as the information of our clients. There have been so many articles about hackers and leaks from big companies where personal info is compromised but with Virtu, we feel confident to email sensitive materials. It has been quick to start, easy to use, and working how it is needed so far. Have not needed to contact customer support, which has been great. Personally, I impliment Virtu in 95% of emails sent or received. Simple to use, easy to resolve. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
At this time, we have not run into issues with Virtu, as far as I know. The only thing that has come up is when sending emails to outside recipients, there have been a couple of instances where they were unable to read the encripted information. Resending isn't a big hassle but can be an inconvinience at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love that I can manage all of the encrypted emails within my organization by accessing one portal and being able to see if the encrypted emails have attachments or if they have been opened by the recipient.
Review UPDATE:
We had Virtru for along time, but started having issues where people couldn't open legit emails that were sent to a group. We also had problems with multiple users where the email wouldn't go out, we had to involve support and sometimes even they couldn't fix it. We switched to Paubox instead. Sometimes the chrome extension has a few issues and the encrypted emails don't work as expected, but that is few and far between. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The most helpful about Virtru is the security that you can get for every email. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside of Virtru for me is the barrier when it comes to the outlook users. Because they can access the email right away compare to all gmail users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My most liked feature of Virtru Email Encryption is its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with existing email platforms like Gmail and Outlook, allowing for easy encryption of sensitive information without requiring complex setup or extensive user training, while still providing robust end-to-end encryption and advanced compliance features for sensitive data protection Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I most disliked about Virtru Email Encryption include its potentially complex user interface, which can be frustrating for both senders and recipients, occasional lagging or non-functionality, and the relatively high cost compared to other email encryption services, leading to some users considering it overpriced for their needs.
