What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

I like it mainly because of the variety of desktops it offers, to install the one that best suits my needs, for example the LXDE is very light especially for old computers, SparkyLinux consumes very few system resources, and with LXDE it works much better.

I have installed in a laptop and the battery lasts much longer, because it does not require so many computer resources there are not many processes there is less energy consumption.

SparkyLinux is based on the stable version of Debian, so I have a lot of support and compatible programs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SparkyLinux?

An important detail is when I connect a USB memory, sometimes it does not mount the unit and I have to do it manually.

When deleting a file from my USB memory, my memory is not occupied until the file is manually deleted from the trash.

What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

Tenía una computadora pentium 4 con 2 Gigabytes de memoria que tenia windows XP. No podía actulizarla y necesitaba la computadora para mi trabajo. Revise varias distribuciones y luego de utilizar Lubuntu, no quede conforme ybusque una distribución más ligera. Consegui Sparkylinux. La instalé haciendo un formateo avanzado del disco duro y ahora mi PC tiene todo lo necesario para trabajar con una distribución sólida y estable. Trae un conjunto de aplicaciones como son Libreoffice, un muro de fuego y el PC se comporta muy rápido. Me quedo con Sparkylinux. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

I have some old machines (a Atom-powered netbook, an Intel Core I3 laptop and an aging AMD-based desktop) lying around the house and accumulating dust. I mean let's be practical, most people don't go around buying new computers just for the sake of it. Machines don't come cheap and these ones, though starting to show their age, are no exception. Not to mention, if not for the announced end of support for Windows 7 (which these machines were happily running on) and the continuously increasing processing requirement of of Windows 10, these machines would continue to serve our purpose, which is primarily for research, editing and typing work. When I heard about Linux, I was skeptical. I always thought it was hard to install, harder to maintain, and ultimately complex to use. I was wrong. I saw the reviews about Sparky, I got it running on all 3 machines, got my non-technical wife to use it and now even my kids are playing games on it. I'm never going back to Windows again. What do you dislike about SparkyLinux?

I have nothing to dislike about this Linux distro. In fact I have all praises. Not only is it lightning fast on old hardware, I managed to get my usual work done after playing around with it for a week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

- Lightweight, fast, and simple distribution, requiring only a minimum of 150 MHz and 50 MB of RAM for installation.

- The distribution is completely stable and free.

- It is completely out of reach of viruses and malware.

- The kernel is fully modifiable, which helps optimize performance.

- Its browser is very similar to Mozilla, which makes it easy to use.

- Another advantage is that it installs VLC and all the necessary codec packs.

What do you dislike about SparkyLinux?

- It is necessary to have knowledge about Linux to be able to use the operating system comfortably, especially for those users who migrate from Windows, as it usually becomes more difficult to adapt to it.

- The graphical interface is not user-friendly, which interferes with the user's ability to quickly understand the functioning of the operating system.

- If you do not have knowledge of Linux, its installation becomes complicated since you must be very clear about the partitions where the operating system should be installed.

What do you like best about SparkyLinux?

Since it is Linux based, this OS free and very secure. Also, the best part is very light and has an option of customizing desktop which is not as in like Ubuntu which makes it very user-friendly Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
