The underlying SAS language continues to be the strongest selling point for SAS Data Management. It's ability to transform and manipulate data still presents a compelling offering. Additionally legacy SAS code is more or less guaranteed to run without too much manipulation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Lack of enterprise scheduling capabilities. I do not understand how SAS Data Management addresses the operation issues of deployment such as scheduling. Is SAS providing homegrown capabilities or will scheduling be more of an integration play, say with other technologies like Apache Airflow.
2. How can flow be easily promoted from environment to environment.
3. How can existing SAS 9 flows be easily realized in SAS Data Management. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Standardized language for data analysis, manipulation, and visualization.
Easy to modify and adapt the code once I understand the basic syntax for the most common functions I use.
Some of the rigorous data analysis required to check for data quality and missing data are easier to do in SAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Challenging initial learning curve, especially for people who hate coding.
Does not feel like my go-to solution every time, because it takes more time to build a workflow that is accurate and consistent, compared to other tools like Microsoft Excel. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The thing I like about this tool is its simplicity. Being user friendly, it requires little to no knowledge of high-end coding, making it accessible for everyone. It efficiently manages large volumes of data with high accuracy. The third thing I really liked about it is the efficient customer support system, who always assist in case of any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The biggest issue this software faces is its high cost demand on resources. The price of the software is high which makes it inaccessible for all users. Further, it slows down the system while handling large and complex datasets. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about SAS Data Loader Hadoop is that it is user-friendly. One does not need to have much knowledge about the tech world to operate it. Furthermore, it has many additional data security features which I like. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is a costly software and not everyone can easily afford it. Another thing that I do not like is that working on large datasets tends to slow down the speed of my computer, which can be very frustrating at times. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows legacy sas9.4 programmers the ability to relatively easily transition to newer products and helps teachers (like me) provide student access to something similar to what I learned on 25+ years ago. It also provides access to some of the advanced features that 9.4 doesn't provide at the moment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although the web access is great, it isn't as easy to manage files as the older system is, IMHO. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the most liked thing about SAS Data loader is that one doesn't needs immense knowldedge about the coding language. The interface is easy to access and manage data transformation. Furthermore it identifies the errors in my report to make it more accurate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is expensive. It also uses a lot of system resources which causes my laptop to hang sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It aids in pattern analysis, parsing the data and executing the stored procedures. It is the best data quality tool till date. It is proficient in handling large volume of data in distributed environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer support system is not responsive enough. It takes immense time to fetch huge amounts of data. It is a bit time consuming and complex to setup. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface and accessibility to the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It takes lot of time to process big data sets, and limitations for certain complex proc steps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I really like how SAS Studio is accessible via the web. It is a great solution who do not have a foundation in the coding side of SAS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The solution we have at our site doesn’t allow us to schedule jobs. Otherwise, I would have no need for the SAS desktop. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is really flexible in what it allows you to do within studio, different languages and syntax are useable. I like that the program allows me to use SAS data steps & SQL program language to access my data and reformat it through different processes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think that the timeout issues and run time errors that occur occasionally would be better as forced terminations to avoid requiring a reset of the page. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
