Rev has helped with several transcription and subtitling projects for our company over the past year. We do a lot of lengthy interview projects that require transcription to allow our team to efficiently review the content and also quickly find the corresponding location in the video footage. What do you like best about Rev?

We generally need transcripts as soon as we can get them and we had previously been accustomed to 2+ business days turnaround time unless we paid a premium. Rev has consistently been able to provide transcripts in under 24hrs, which is a HUGE help for us. They also have a great system for allowing us to search for a quote in the text and then immediately play back the audio to hear the original audio, which has helped us out a lot. What do you dislike about Rev?

I really can't think of much that I would consider a downside. Speed, cost and accuracy have all been fantastic. I think the only feature that could make it even better would be the ability to prioritize the order of transcription if we are uploading a larger batch of files. I've noticed sometimes the order the files are showing up as in the system isn't necessarily how we'd ideally like them prioritized. Usually this isn't an issue as the turnaround time is fast all around, but there are times that I wish I could indicate the files that could be done first/last. What problems is Rev solving and how is that benefiting you?

In the past we have always dealt with text files for out transcripts, which was what we were used to, but having an online system where the text is searchable/markable and we can also listen to the original audio as well as share this with our clients has made things both more efficient and user friendly for our team. I am the Content Marketing manager, and I write every day. I write articles, blogs, case studies, eBooks...varying in technical/complexity from none to way up there. I use Rev for any interview or meeting that I will want to use as a source for my content. So, I use it probably on average 1-2 times per week. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Rev?

Before Rev, I had to choose between taking detailed notes during a meeting or interview or being able to pay attention to and be involved in the conversation. With Rev, I get both. The quality of my interviews and meetings has improved, and I get more detailed "notes" than I could ever get trying to write them on my own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Rev?

I have never had anything to dislike...until I called Support for an issue. I had submitted a recording for transcription and realized only minutes after submitting that I needed to have it expedited. I immediately sent a message to the chat but got no answer after 15 minutes, so I emailed. Then I called. Finally, I got someone on the phone and she was insistent that there was absolutely nothing you could do because the job had already been picked up by a writer...and it's your policy not to change the terms of the "contract" once accepted. While I understand this, I also want to say--as delicately as possible--that that is not my problem. You should have an avenue for this type of situation, especially when the customer has contacted you so quickly. The support person's only suggestion was that I cancel the order and place a new one. That just seemed silly. Regardless, I asked her if she could please let your team know that this is an issue and can you look at offering an option for this type of situation? She was clearly NOT interested in relaying that request and even had the audacity to say--and I quote--"I would be happy if I were you because you're going to get your transcript in 18 hours." I was STUNNED. I quickly got off the phone before I said something I would regret...waited a few minutes, and called back. Another person said that you could cancel and resubmit it. Anyway, I think you need to 1) offer an option on the website that lets someone change something if it's within, say, 15 minutes, and 2) train your support people not to say insanely stupid things like this girl said. The process of submitting videos for captioning is quick and easy. Getting the email notification with order updates is also super helpful. I think the Order History tab could use some improvements. As someone who submits hundreds of orders a week, sometimes I can’t find that thing I was looking for because it’s organized by Order #. "Exceeded my wildest dreams!"

I have a 43 minute TV Pilot that I wanted to place on Amazon Prime Video Direct - except it had to have closed captioning... I tried an automated service (NOT REV) and got something that was only accurate occasionally and was most definitely unacceptable... Then I tried REV.
