"Excellent Tool for testing API calls"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

We use the customrules.js script file to be able to use this tool as an emulator to allow our applications to work with and make web service calls without the need for a real, external API. The ability to return files from the network as the actual response, or to dynamically build responses is very useful Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

There is some extra bloat in the customrules.js that makes our code appear in the middle of code used by Fiddler. Would be nice to simply move our code externally, and then require it in to the main body of the customrules.js. In fairness, I have not tried to do this, although it looks like it might work. "Must have for Digital Analysts"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

The best part about Fiddler is it's flexibility and ability to customize the software to fit your purpose. It has many options to let you track almost anything that is happening behind a website. Unlike many other "light" applications or browser plug-ins that claim to show you what "tags" are firing, Fiddler will give you the raw data packets that are being passed behind the scenes. You can put a filter on the type of data exchange you are interested in, high-light the important interactions and save the logs to be reviewed later. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

At first I personally found it difficult to navigate through the interface, because it simply had too much options, most of them not necessary/required to get started. It takes a little bit to learn the useful options at first, but once you have everything set-up the way you prefer, then it becomes a lot easier in the long run. I would love to see a "light" version for beginners. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Great experience using it"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

Fiddler is a Web Debugging Proxy which logs all HTTP(S) traffic between your computer and the Internet. Fiddler allows you to inspect traffic, set breakpoints, and “fiddle” with incoming or outgoing data. Fiddler includes a powerful event-based scripting subsystem, and can be extended using any .NET language. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

One downside of running as a proxy is that a client application may behave somewhat differently if it knows a proxy is in use. Most of these effects are very minor and will not meaningfully impact your measurements. Known impacts include:

"Fiddler may be the most valuable utility I use on a daily basis"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

The ability to repeat requests to a website which allows me to develop the website code more quickly. This way I don't have to click through the same actions in the ERP system multiple times just to troubleshoot a problem with the website. The search functionality is also great, I can search within all the sessions and find the transfers that are related to one order with just a few clicks. The inspect tab is also great since I can see exactly what is happening on the web side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

It seems to miss some requests on some servers. Not sure why. Also I kinda wish the certificate installation for HTTPS decryption was not so convoluted. I understand you need specific acceptance from the user but the multile button clicks are annoying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Fiddler for web debugging"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

Its Free! Fiddler is a well rounded debugging tool. It is simple and is useful for HTTP traffic capture, including encrypted HTTPS traffic. Also, Fiddler issues its own Root Certificate Authority for HTTPS debugging. Furthermore, you can filter out content you do not wish to see, this is helpful because in most cases the amount of output is overwhelming. I use this a lot to test ajax calls making sure the correct behavior is occurring since it does allow things like converting post variables to a table form and editing/replaying requests. What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

Has some issues with Internet explorer but really what doesn't. (IE sucks) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Necessary part of a developer / support / analyst tool kit"
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

The utter simplicity of firing up Fiddler and seeing all HTTP traffic (including HTTPS) with filters to limit by application, server, headers, etc. Fiddler doesn't need to be installed to work so can be invaluable diagnosing connectivity or performance issues on client computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

Very little! The interface is clean and simple. The only suggested improvement I have is that the filter criteria save on field blur which is not immediately intuitive. Perhaps Fiddler could simply introduce an 'Apply' button. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Helps us secure our hard work "
What do you like best about Progress Telerik Fiddler?

On this era of AI and all other technologies, maybe there will be a time without mistakes errorless. But for now we are just another chapter of mankind and mistakes. Sometimes it's not even mistake, we are not prepared for outcome of our experimental programming. That's where Fiddler helps us know what went wrong.

Using Fiddler we are able to analyze HTTP and HTTPS calls on any platforms and any devices. And we get to know if something not working or if there any security threats on our system. I LOVE the feature that Fiddler is available using proxy, this particular feature alone is a game changer. Giving us the power to monitor our setup using various operating systems and various devices. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Progress Telerik Fiddler?
