What do you like best about Lockdown Browser?

Security features make it a viable solution for our institution. Ease of use by faculty and students makes setup and training easy. While students are able to find workaround (e.g. second computer), it does act as enough of a deterrent to make it worthwhile. It also integrates nicely with D2L Brightspace. What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?

Some students do not have the required technology to be able to use the software and when they do, it is sometimes challenging to have Respondus recognize the hardware (e.g. video camera). It is one of the best browsers for conducting online tests of students. while using the lockdown browser, the students are barred from using other tabs or programs or files from their computer which can be used for cheating. When used in a proctored environment, it is one of the most secure testing browsers.

The lockdown browser is good, but even it has some bugs and leaks, it takes a good amount of time to set up. It has glitches when using it on Mac, and the UI is not very user-friendly for everyone. What do you dislike about Lockdown Browser?

The bugs I get aren't even consistent. I'll attempt multiple log ons, which will sometimes crash at the start, or wait until I've spent 10 minutes doing the webcam check to then freeze. There was no correlation of me exiting running programs, uninstalling video editing software that uses my webcam, or restarting my computer. I was recommended by tech support to uninstall my video editing software, which is both annoying and seems unnecessary, especially considering it wasn't running.

I'm an electrical engineering student as well. The irony of using this program to learn about precision, circuitry, and programming is not lost on me. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
