What do you like best about Kong Gateway?

Kong can scale to the developer and user needs as applications grow. Although a bit of a learning curve can be expected, this outweighs the benefits of a flexible API solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kong Gateway?

Kong has a learning curve if you are not familiar with API management and solutions. Also the use of Lua for plugin integration could be improved upon by provided developers the programming language of choice, such as Go or Javascript. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Kong Insomnia?

I have been using it for approx three (3) years. It has a beautiful UI that is feature-rich. It supports REST and GraphQL. It even has a feature to filter the results received. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kong Insomnia?

It fulfills my requirements. There is not much to dislike. The only issue is that not too many people use it, so if I share the APIs with new team members, I also need to tell them about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Kong Gateway?

I like the available support and features currently they are offering, one of the best things I like is the available plugins and the option to create your plugin so technically you are not missing anything and you have complete control to API.

The data transformation feature is also very useful and gives you the flexibility to connect/use any type of data source. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Kong Gateway?

Lack of training and industry-standard examples are missing or difficult to navigate. You can't use plugins in the free version. Tooling is missing, I think Kong should launch Kong Developer Studio or similar kind of IDE. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
