At LC GLOBAL®, we specialize in adaptive organization design, and Functionly has quickly become our go-to tool. What made us choose it over its competitors was the lean implementation process—straightforward, fast, and remarkably easy to navigate. Much of the platform is highly intuitive, which made adoption seamless across our projects and teams.
We particularly value the range of team-based design functions it offers, which align perfectly with the kinds of collaborative, dynamic organization designs we develop with our clients. The support team deserves special mention—they are responsive, informed, and consistently helpful. Their guidance makes a real difference.
This tool strikes the right balance between structure and adaptability—just what you need when working with organizations navigating complexity, change, and fast growth. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our overall experience has been excellent. Just the export functions still need refinement. Occasionally, exports come out partially cut off or formatted in a way that needs additional cleanup. As Functionly consistently never stands still to improve its services, we are sure that it's going to get even better over time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our experience with Functionly has been very positive. It delivers a robust and user-friendly platform that has enabled our team to create a near 'always on' organizational chart.
What truly sets Functionly apart is their commitment to customer success. Their support team is nothing short of amazing – responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile to address any questions or concerns. Beyond that, the strategic partnership has been invaluable, demonstrating their dedication to understanding and meeting our specific needs, as well as being very receptive to feedback to help continue to improve the platform in future iterations. It’s clear they're dedicated to refining their product based on real-world user experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We're just hoping to see further evolutions of HRIS x Functionly APIs, so that we can achieve a true 'always on' org chart for planning in the future. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Functionly is truly a game-changer in the realm of organizational development tools. As a consultant, I've had the pleasure of utilizing the platform multiple times, and I am consistently blown away by its impeccable user experience. The platform's functionality is top-notch and makes my work so much more efficient. I've had the unique experience of journeying alongside the product development team and it's evident that they genuinely value and consider user feedback, which speaks volumes about their commitment to continuous improvement. I can't rave enough about Functionly. Highly recommend! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I've been using the tool since it first launched and what I have appreciated is Functionly's response to feedback. They are so quick to listen and improving the product! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the capabilities that Functionaly presents to me when it comes to better understanding my organization's capabilities. The canned functions, along with the ability to assign individuals within the org chart to their functional area, have helped to provide crisp clarity to the gaps in our staffing, capabilities, and preparedness to scale and meet our larger strategic objectives.
Additionally, the ability to utilize this tool to develop forward-facing staffing plans, with costing, skill set needs, and utilizing that to shape our recruitment and interview prioritization and execution has been immensely valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some features are present and powerful but not as apparent or obvious when you're new to the application. A brief call with the Funcitonly team QUICKLY demonstrated the team's thoughtfulness and feature-rich application. I wish I hadn't needed the assistance, but 85% of my needs were met intuitively. It's that last 15% that would be my biggest gripe. (And it's not a big one) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Generally, an org chart becomes obsolete the next day it's been finalized. The great thing about Functionly is that it splits the reporting and the accountabilities. Reporting does not change much generally, but new accountabilities in a business come up every day and Functionly makes it easy to assign them as they come without affecting the reporting chart. The result is that at any time, any employee can see who is responsible for what in the organization and every employee is clearly aware of their accountabilities.
Most important for such a powerful tool is the excellent support! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish there were more tutorial videos on how to strategically build a Functionly chart. Should we start from the functions, the teams, the roles or the people? A blank template (no functions, no roles) would be good too, or at least an option to remove all the functions and roles from a template. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It helps us think more clearly about the functions we'll need and where they'll fit in our team, instead of just drawing an org chart. The user interface is modern and elegant. Their people (including the CEO) are eager to listen to feedback and brainstorm about how to make the product better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I'd like to be able to understand the impact of our plans in terms of the list of personnel changes and the effect on our cashflow -- but they've done a great job of listening to my comments and giving me confidence that they understand and have ideas to enhance their product to help. Functionly did save a lot of my time comparing with chart builders(draw.io, etc) when I did plan org structure for my startup because it purpose-built. Also, I like:
1. Templates for functions and jobs
2. Lightweight and easy to use UI with drag and drop
3. Ability to build multiple org chart scenarios and compare
4. Possibility to export org chart and job descriptions
5. Generous 22 days free trial (no credit card required) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It already gives excellent value, however, there are a lot of features that will skyrocket this value in the future, for example adding KPI's to each position and making them live via connecting to data sources via Zapier. Also, there are minor UX issues, which I believe will be resolved in the future, like adding vacant position as a manager, inability to add a team on the top of other teams (but there is backdoor for this, you can add a new team and then put other teams inside this team) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

team-based org modeling; built-in function library and ability to put people into multiple teams Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
UX is a bit rough, or janky in some areas, needs autoscroll and more progressive disclosure, no dotted lines or non-primary views/layers, sharing functionality is a bit limited, and we connection to JustWorks and other HR systems is a real requirement. Stuff appears too dense at a small scale. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The user interface is easy to interact with, they is enough functionality to grow into, and they are just getting started! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Since they are just getting started, there are some like-to-haves that need to be addressed, but in discussions with the team there, they are on the roadmaps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We have always needed the ability to view our org by job function and accountability. We never knew this until we were part of the beta program a couple years ago. It was an a-ha moment, but immediately clicked. We have been using Functionaly as it has been evolving over the past few years and it is now an important part of our operations. We review the output regularly at our Quarterly Offsites and it really helps align Managers to their Direct Reports. Also, being able to view the org in various dimensions is extremely useful for identifying gaps. During the pandemic, we moved to a 100% remote workforce. This created an immediate need for greater visibility into who does what and how we would manage an immediate need for new accountabilities. Functionaly solved these problems. A few UI features are not as intuitive as I would like. In the latest release, there is an inability to remove People and I like a clean dataset. These aren't big deals. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
