What do you like best about django CMS?

Your content manager will love you, especially with the user friendly page editing tool.

You need a custom placeholder, CMS plugin make your developer happy.

You want to inject a custom Django application to the page tree, just hook it.

The flexibility offered by Django framework permit to easily add new custom feature to your CMS.

The community provide a good choice of Django-CMS applications, like blog, news, poll, etc., and you always find good support from the enthusiasts community of developer. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about django CMS?

By default, not made for complexe content workflow, like moderation queue.

Reverting page content changes is not always perfect, but work on most use cases.

Not always easy to deal with placeholder caching mechanism. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering django CMS:

Never tested with more than 10'000 pages, also be careful if you use it with lot of simultaneous content editor, all depends of your architecture capacity and editor workflow. For big website need considering frontend caching solution, like Vanish to guarantee fast page loading time. With a suitable architectured the CMS be able to support anyway heavy load! I use this CMS to create valued website with high traffic since more than 5 years.

The powerful capacity of Django framework permit to create a custom experience over the top of the CMS itself. Like a custom search-engine, a custom authentication mechanism or set up complexe plugins.

What do you like best about django CMS?

Flexibility and scalability of the product.

Easy to understand user interface: newbies get to understand the CMS quickly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about django CMS?

Can be somewhat tricky to manage dynamic multilanguage content, i.e. blogs.

Editing of multi-language content is not exactly user friendly. E.g. there is no option to view content in different languages side by side. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering django CMS:

Django is quite powerful and flexible. Keep in mind, that it might be too powerful – and thus too complex – for small to mid scale web projects.

If you are coming from platforms like Wordpress you might miss the ease of trying out gazillions of plugins; my supplier had to develop apps for certain features we had expected to be readily available. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about django CMS?

DjangoCMS is based on Python/Django, one of the cleanest, most solid and powerful web frameworks out there. The best thing about DjangoCMS is how it plugs into Django - whole apps can be made available within the DjangoCMS administration very easily and writing plugins also is a breeze as plugins are also based on Django apps.

I also like the ability to quickly launch a DjangoCMS project on Aldryn, an all-inclusive hosting / deployment solution by Divio, where many of DjangoCMS' contributors work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about django CMS?

What do you like best about django CMS?

The user interface for frontend editing is very easy to handle and intuitive. Most of our content editors don't need a long time to understand the cms and this helps us to save some budget. What do you dislike about django CMS?

There is no option available at the moment for the content administrator to publish a page in different languages at the same time, all different languages must be published independently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

django CMS is a powerful platform that gives a lot of possibilities and where nothing is impossible. Of course there are other CMSes like Typo3, Wordpress etc. All of them have their own strengths and weaknesses, but django CMS lacks nothing compared to others and it's actually written in Django which is way more flexible and secure than PHP.
