What do you like best about ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java?

I have been using ArcGIS SDK from last 2 years and the best thing about this SDK is that it is platform independent for creating apps. It can be used to create apps for any OS such as Windows, Linux or Mac.

Its Geocoding feature provides me the option to search for the destination places using predefined match criteria. The directions and the total drive time are 100% accurate and can be permanently relied upon.

its Maps are visually appealing and it has various rendering options to choose from. It has a rich collection of maps. Elevation data can be used to query questions and get a detailed assessment summary of the same. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ArcGIS Runtime SDK for Java?

Sometimes it is unable to find the imports I use in it. At that point of time, I have to download it and then provide the package so that it can be used. That's the only small issue in this SDK. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ArcGIS API for Python?

What do you dislike about ArcGIS API for Python?

I honestly wish there were more tools like this developed outside of Python. The endpoints are there, Python is great, but it's always the preferred language, while other tools could help us more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ArcGIS API for JavaScript?

Perhaps my only dislike is the look and feel of the apps are a little generic and despite having the ability to insert your organisations logos and the like they all still feel a little sterile. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

more complex things are poorly documented. tHe newest version (4.x) is missing a lot of the functionality found in 3.x. Dojo/Dijit is poorly documented, difficult to use and heavily integrated with the API Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ArcGIS API for JavaScript?

Using an API is not that simple. If there is something you are not aware of or do not know you have to depend on the documentation. I believe more documentation is needed for this product including more advanced examples (not just the simple ones). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about ArcGIS API for Python?

I love the simplicity of the api. The use of jupyter notebooks is amazing. We went from haveing to use 6 functions to interact with AGO to two lines of code. It is awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Unfortunately, ArcGIS simply hosts too much data for the app to be bug-free. I have run into freezing, shut-downs, slow loading, etc. The sheer complexity of GIS systems makes this unsurprising. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
