Maintenance overhead needed when you install a self-provisioned K8S cluster is very high. With EKS maintenance of master nodes is not needed anymore. The reliability of the service is another plus. Furthermore, the easy integration with vertical cluster autoscaler allows to scale up/down nodes saving a lot of money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Managed master node means you can't have totale control over the cluster. Limited network management is an example. Support for the latest version of K8S is usually not really fast. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's absolutely wonderful of how managed your kubernetes architecture has been made so that you can focus on your actual work. For me it's getting rid of management of kubernetes components that helped me the most here. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
