If you're wanting to test Unity in general, starting on Unity Personal (https://store.unity.com/products/unity-personal) may be a good idea, since that solution has the same core functions – testing there would be a usability test and give you an idea of the learning curve. From there, it may be worth contacting Unity to see about picking up a shorter-term plan for Unity Plus at a reduced rate. I hope this helps!
There is currently no option to subscribe to any of the paid plans for any time shorter than 12 months (1 year).
Remember that you're only legally required to use any paid version of Unity once your annual revenue is higher than $ 100.000,- The free version of Unity is identical to all the paid versions. The only thing you're missing is the dark editor skin and various additional services.
