How do you get technology agonstic recommendations?

There are many software vendors, marketing solution providers and tech sales people willing to offer plenty of free advice on why you should use their preferred technology, but I find getting technology agnostic recommendations on what would truly offer the best value to my organisation challenging.

This is where forums like this are helpful, it's great we have G2 and can read online reviews, but what else is everyone doing to figure out what the best marketing tech stack is for their business without compromising features or paying more than is necessary?

Great point! We get bombarded with technology recommendations from all the channels (mails, playstore, etc.) but I feel we sometimes need to apply try and test method.

Hi Rob,

A great question. I've been quite fortunate, in that I have spoken to consultancies and they openly flaunt their vendor-neutral or vendor-agnostic credentials.

One thing to notice is their track record, understanding of the market trends and dynamics, technical expertise, and solutions delivery. If they score positively on these criteria and you don't detect outside favouritism/benefit/investment/partiality etc, then you can have a good idea that you are in the right place.
