There are two separate sections within the IDrive interface, one for local files/folders, and a second for mapped and external drives. It probably goes without saying, but just make sure your external drives are actually plugged in to your machine when the backup runs :)

If the drive is mapped so that it shows up in windows file explorer, then you just treat it like any other file or directory and chose it.

Once paid and officially registered with IDrive, request must be made to IDrive to mail an ‘IDrive external hard drive’… once received, (it will come with instructions and awesome team support) next step will be uploading one’s personal/business computer to this specific drive. After successful completion of uploading one’s personal/business computer to this specific drive, it is then to be returned to IDrive with the mailing instructions and return label it came with. Once iDrive receives it, may take 2-3 business days for IDrive to download all of the information to their external remote cloud drive. Upon successful completion, IDrive team will then email the confirmation at which point one can then schedule and perform their own back ups to IDrive moving forward. The process is fairly straightforward, but if any questions or concerns arise during this initial process, the IDrive support team is extremely helpful and responds immediately to assist through the entire process if necessary. I am a very appreciative customer and trust IDrive with supporting/backing up my delicate information. Peace-

Your external hard drive will appear in the list of drives available for backup in iDrive.

Make sure you have the space allotted for the backup. Choose what and where it will pull the data for backing up. So if your external hard drive is drive E, tell it to back up from Drive E.
