How can i get a design service to radically improve the design and the look and feel of the app.

I would say hold off, and talk to your customers about what they want. We were going to get a service and decided after talking to Appy Pie to talk to our customers, and we are glad we did. They are the ones who are going to be using your App, so talk to them. We used our email list, our website, posted in gardening clubs (we are a garden center), the amount of feedback we got was so worth it. Also by doing that, your customers feel like you are building it for them.
