In using the card swiping hardware, why would one want to choose paypal over another direct competitor like Square?

If you have an issue with Square like the money does not deposit in your account, or they issue a incorrect 1099, the only way to reach out is thru email, and when they don't respond immediately, the only recourse is to reach out via email again. We had several issues with the incorrect 1099 issued for our company, and customer service was not on par. Paypal offers better customer service, more insight on the consumers who purchased thru pos in the case of possible chargebacks, and the swiping hardware adapts better to the device. The triangle device has a tab that is extended to improve the accuarcy and ease of use when swiping. The Square often swivels around in the port because it does not rest against the device.

I've asked the same to two people who I've seen using Square instead of Paypal and they both mentioned one thing - ease of use. Not that Paypal isn't easy to use for businesses, but Square has more to offer: - accessibility (business owners can use this on the go with just a smartphone or a tablet, without the need of other accessories if they're not handy) - analytics (Square offers some great analytics to give people insights on how their business is going) We'll see how that goes over time though, as I'm sure some more competitors will come up with some brilliant (and better) ideas/tools.

Hmmm....not sure. Maybe just for the popularity of Paypal. I know that's not the best of reasons :)
