How does Snowflake use data encryption?

Just discovered G2, this question is 2 years old - however, I can't bear a question going unanswered ;-) Snowflake encrypts all customer data by default, using the latest security standards, at no additional cost. Snowflake provides best-in-class key management, which is entirely transparent to customers.
