Are we expecting another security update in the range of 30GB in the near future?
The current security update that required 30GB of free space to install put our company in a bind when we found multiple computers that were unable to upgrade because of the lack of free space. We have numerous computers across various stores shared by 20-30 users, each with a personal profile. This update was abnormally large and required us to develop a solution to implement the update. After this update, it caused many of our network printers to be unavailable due to the drivers needing updates, and our users are not admins on the computers. Hence, it created a backlog of users that needed remote access to update drivers.
It's always a recommendation to at least have 50GB free for this case of scenarios, but as you might know. Windows 11 has finally release, so many of the new updates will be small and corrective, instead of preventive. We Will probably see another heavy update in a couple of month, but If things keep going like it is looking, Windows 11 will start to take over, and heavy Windows 10 updates will no longer exist.
