How can i go from a 2D drawing to 3D easily?

I often wondered if it is possible to go from a 2 D drawing to a 3D model / object. This might already be a feature but I am unsure. Any tips?

The best way to configure a 3d view is to create a isometric view of the viewport. That's what I prefer. So I would make 3 viewport configuration that would include top view, isometric view(3d) and any other view for ease of understanding. If you don't know how to enable it, just go to VIEW option in ribbon and than their select viewport configuration, select the number of views you want and also the orientation of view(top, front or customize the view)
