Would really like to utilize a dashboard from the platform for easy access to information and reporting.

You already have it. Try Project HOME or INSIGHT in the Menu. For further information within Project Dashboards, give a user Executive Overview capabilities, editing the user properties; that'll make it and you'll be delighted when he or she access his/hers account.
