What is the best way to use My Reports with the Planning Analysis outputs?

I am working on creating an analysis on the planning outputs, wanting to utilize the My Reports function to create a one-analysis-fits-most, managing other requests by exception. Is there an easy way to do this, or do we need to train folks to apply their filters every time? Thanks!

Hi Elizabeth, I believe that when you refer to the ‘My Reports’ function, you’re referring to the two concepts that will allow you to quickly filter to employees who report to you: the ‘My Direct Reports’ concept filters on employees who report directly to you and the ‘My Reports’ concept filters on employees who are in your supervisory hierarchy. For example, when you try to filter or group a metric by ‘My Reports’ you will see a short pop-up description explaining that My Reports includes the employees in your supervisory hierarchy. I think that you’re asking whether or not you can have that filter automatically applied to the analysis. The answer is yes, it can be automatically applied after you add charts to your analysis. To do so you need to select Employee as your driving subject. Then you can add the ‘My Reports’ filter. When you do this the filter will be applied to the analysis for all viewers. If your plan is used as the driving subject you can have filters on the plan dimensions as well. If your plan has the org hierarchy you may be able to filter using the ‘My Reports’ filter, but this has not yet been tested. For more information about the Driving Subject setting check out http://guides.visier.com/en-us/Analytics/analyses%20room/Analysis%20Editor.htm#TheDrivingSubject If others would like to provide their insight and feedback we’re always looking to improve!
