How do I transfer my programs and data from one laptop to another?

I really need a starting point and step by step instructions.

The easiest way is to download Dropbox on to both devices. Then log in to the same account on both devices and all of your stuff will appear on both devices.

Your files can be uploaded to Dropbox. Your programs can be transferred via a program called Laplink https://web.laplink.com/pcmover_feature_overview/ This works pretty well. You can also download some of your programs from their original sites.

To transfer data, open Dropbox and click the plus symbol at the bottom right corner, then click on add files from computer. To add programs that can be transferred legally, do the same. Just note that most program files cannot be transferred; you will need to download or use the disk. On your new laptop, open Dropbox and click on file, then click on the 3 dots, then click export and select the location you want to place the file. Hope this helps 😁

Due to the amount of information you may need to transfer, I recommend using a USB stick or an external hard drive.

I would use a flash drive unless I had DropBox. Either make the transition much easier!
