What is the best way to manage a linked model if is not on BIM 360?
Should we upload the model we received from a client to 360? Or can we leave the model on a shared local server? Are there any benefits to either method?
Tyrone,
I would highly recommend putting any model on 360! You can create a folder with permissions down to the user level and have them download the file/s. An issue with the local sever, that I have found, is the inability for external sources to have continual access the file/s. If you have the file on 360, it is easy enough to add them to the project so that they can download it. This alleviates the headaches caused by sharing the file/s each time they are requested.
