Hi Philip! My name is Stephanie and I'm an analyst in marketing & advertising at G2. This is a great question — for many companies collecting employee feedback, anonymity is essential. SurveyMonkey allows users to choose NOT to track or store identifiable information about respondents with the Anonymous Responses collector option. With this option turned on, SurveyMonkey will record respondents' IP addresses and store them in a log on the backend, not made visible to the user. This data will be deleted after 13 months.
It's important to note that if the survey is shared through multiple channels, or "collectors," (for example, a web link, social, and email) then the Anonymous Responses option must be selected in each collector. You can learn more about collecting anonymous responses here: https://help.surveymonkey.com/articles/en_US/kb/How-do-I-make-surveys-anonymous.
Thanks again for asking this question. I hope this helps. -Stephanie
