App store software is very few, and updating or installing takes a long time. Less user-friendly than macOS or Windows. It caters more to technical people than to gamers.

I can download and load up the pre-release version of windows 8 from microsoft's website. I do think windows 8 works great if you have a tablet, but I'm less enthused about using it on my desktop.

Because Windows 8 is the best.Read more
Windows 8 is an operating system developed by Microsoft, released in 2012. It introduced a new user interface based on the Metro design language, which was optimized for touchscreens. While it brought some improvements in performance and security, it received mixed reviews due to its significant departure from the traditional Windows interface, particularly the removal of the Start menu. Some users appreciated the new features and design, while others found it challenging to adapt to the changes. Overall, whether Windows 8 is considered "good" can depend on individual preferences and needs.
