The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Global Education
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a profound impact on the lives of people around the world. We had to quickly adapt to different ways of working, learning, and connecting with each other. There has been continuous and mounting worry about the spread of the virus, disruption to the status quo, and it has been unlike anything we’ve experienced in modern times.

Question on: Blackboard
I would be curious if the designers have taken to heart the UX concerns that have been raised.During my time spent at the university the prevalining opinion was that Blackboard was not a user-friendly tool, and lecturers were keen to look into alternatives.
Everyone dislikes their enterprise level LMS and wants to replace it. I worked with Bb daily for 8 years. Yes. I had complaints about the UX. But the software was overall extremely stable, never crashed, had good 24 hour support, and most of the tools I wanted or needed.

Question on: Edsby
Can Edsby be customized for our school district?Customization
Yes. Customization is one of Edsby’s core differentiators. Edsby will implement a school or district’s existing assessment schemes for gradebook and report cards. And it will reproduces existing report cards as part of initial integration. Other customization, including custom reports like progress reports, etc., is charged for. Timing and costing can be described in a written proposal.

It think D2L (Desire To Learn) is a pretty good modern alternative to Blackboard. It requires far less down time and is more intuitive. I've had better luck navigating D2L on my own than Blackboard.
I agree with Charysse - D2L is a great competitor, and it still allows you to view course news, materials, grades and interact with teachers, colleagues and professionals via email, blogs and forums/groups
We now use Brightspace, but I find it far less intuitive than Blackboard
