Thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review. Many of our customers agree that Xref’s ability to flag unusual activity that may potentially be suspicious helps them to make informed decisions about a candidate.

In regards to your feedback around slow or delayed verification codes, we definitely understand how frustrating that can be! This can sometimes be due to your email provider having multiple filters in an effort to reduce spam. We make up for that though with our quick and accurate reference checks! Did you know the average reference check with Xref is completed within 18 hours?

Overall, our customers find that using online reference checks mean they don’t have to play phone tag or organise calls outside of working hours. This means for many of our customers, the time to hire and overall hiring journey is much faster.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re glad to hear that you find Xref useful for creating your own tailored reference checking surveys and getting through the volume when recruiting. Like you, many of our customers find Xref saves them time because as you said, it makes the reference checking process a “set and forget”.

With regard to your feedback around the tone of the referee being lost and the nature of automated reference checking being impersonal - if this is a cause for concern for our customers, they can rely on our Sentiment Analysis report, accessible once a reference check is completed. This tracks word count. The higher the word count, the more engaged a referee is with a candidate, tending towards a positive sentiment. Additionally, some of our customers like to follow up referees with a call to further understand the tone and create that personal connection to understand the detail better.

With regard to your comments around experiencing issues frequently with candidates, are you please able to let us know what type of issues? We are continually working to ensure our customers have a great experience and 2.5 stars isn’t the best. What do you like best about Xref?

I love the partnership we created with xRef. The platform has been easy to set up and use. We have had ongoing support with excellent customer service from our Customer Success Manager - Nikolas, and Account Manager Lara. They also advise on best practices too.

The Alert of Suspicious Activity email is an additional feature of their service that detects potentially fraudulent activity. They will discuss what has been detected and advise how to approach the situation.

When we use it for volume recruitment, there is a function that makes it easy to bulk upload and manage the process too.

The turnaround time of reference check is so efficient, especially for referees that are in different time zones. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

I would love to be able to upload new reference check template without assistance from the team. However, the team has always been there to assist with our last-minute needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Xref?

Xref is a very easy to use tool and is very user friendly for all who use it. It only takes a minute to send off the reference check request. I like how it shows the sentiment percentages and can also identify if there are issues with a referee. It is also great how you can select different templates for different types of roles. It makes reference checking very easy and quick. The references are easy to download and understand and compare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Xref?

I like how references can complete a reference at any time of day or night. It gives the reference an opportunity to complete in the reference in their own time rather than an employer annoying them through the day and during work hours. I also find that the regularly sent emails to follow up is great also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

One thing I would like to see is candidates and references being notified via SMS rather than just email. When contacting candidates about their references, I find that an SMS to candidates about their references is responded to in a more timely matter. (Although, Xref is much faster than the employer calling every reference). Also I think an SMS would be useful as sometimes the Xref email goes to peoples junk mail Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Xref?

The time saved and the ability for referee's and applicants to provide information/references outside of business hours on a variety of devices. It makes the whole process much more convenient. The feature that flags any suspicious activity is also very useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Xref?

Missing the ability to assess sentiment/language in the responses provided by referee's. This is addressed with the way Xref analysis the language used in the report however sometimes there is a lot you can learn from the way someone speaks. In regards to your feedback about candidates checking their email to begin the process, you can let candidates know that you conduct references by email instead of phone and that you will begin the process by emailing the candidate themselves to submit the details of their referees. It's a quick process on their end.
