"The best tool for T-SQL Development"
What do you like best about SQL Prompt?

It's ease of use, wide variety of features (Intellisense, SQL History and Snippets being in the top, Code Formatting), and the excellent and seamless SSMS integration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SQL Prompt?

Formatting could use a bit more flexibility in defining the style.

And the fact that Azure Data Studio still doesn't have a full version... And possibly never will? :( Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Invaluable tool to reduce typing and make formatting consistent"
What do you like best about SQL Prompt?

It is vastly superior to SSMS' built-in tool for command completion.

It saves me a LOT of typing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SQL Prompt?

SQL Format has changed recently and now sticks tabs in odd places. I have to review any script that I have re-formatted using SQL Format. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Good product undone by refusal to support current technology"
What do you like best about SQL Prompt?

Very useful formatter with solid customisation rules. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SQL Prompt?

No support for Azure Synapse rendering core functionality useless. After years of the product being around and RedGate refusing to support Synapse, it has become clear that they have no intention to incorporate support for a market leading platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"As a data warehouse developer I use SQL Prompt which increases my productivity by a lot"
What do you like best about SQL Prompt?

You can expand all columns under a SELECT * with one button

Pressing F2 enables you to rename the aliases you currently have your cursor on for the entire query.

When you want to see or edit the definition of a procedure you simply type ALTER PROCEDURE with the name of the procedure and Prompt gets the definition in your query screen. I hardly use the object explorer of SSMS anymore.

Sql Prompt can fill out GROUP BY statements automatically for you.

It Highlights for you which INSERT INTO line belongs to which SELECT line.

Hovering over objects gives all info about an object and makes it possible to copy the definition

The intellisense is better than standard in SSMS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SQL Prompt?

The button for updating SQL Prompt intellisense is different than the SSMS intellisense.

There is a shortcut to only execute the statement under the cursor. But this doesn't work if there are any syntax errors in your query even is it unrelated to the current. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The best SQL coding tool I've used"
What do you like best about SQL Prompt?

You increase your coding speed by a factor of 10x. The snappiness of the suggestions for columns, tables, and joins. SQL also makes adhering to a consistent coding style easy, making reviewing and fault tracing much more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about SQL Prompt?

Not much. Sometimes, the coding style could be a little more "dynamic" depending on the amount of code in the script. The coding style examples might not always apply to significant amounts of code. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
