"The most trusted database."
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

Very robust. Fully ACID compliant. Can scale very well at high concurrency levels. Supports asynchronous and synchronous replication. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Because of it's complexity and power, using PostgreSQL might be killing too much in small applications that will not make use of it's full power. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"PostgreSQL is a feature rich open source database"
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

No licensing! PostgreSQL offers many of the same features Oracle database but at no cost. Optional extensions (ggaudit, uuid-ossp, etc.) add to the numerous native features of the database. JSONB data types also allow for PostgreSQL to be used as a document store. PostgreSQL has it's pgplsql procedural language, plus the ability to use other languages such as Python. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

There are some features which are not quiet as robust as Oracle. Oracle auditing is more granular. The lack of referential integrity for partitioned tables is a con. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Amazing Database"
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

The huge library of functions make it easier for the user to implement his required functionality without writing custom queries. PostgreSQL used to lag when it comes to speed performance but now that it has updated it is fast enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Documentation and Example is not extensive. PHP my Admin tool is not very user friendly . I have personally used the phpMyAdmin and was disappointed . PHP Storms inbuilt database plugin is much better. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Psql is more user-friendly "
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

Compared to Oracle, Postrges seems to be more forgiving to first-time sql users. The statements allowed by Postgres are more logical and structured which really makes sense to most sql users when they first get started. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Postgres has a lot of functions and packages that you can add to extend the core functionality, but those addons are usually hyped by web forms. It's usually not something that a non- db admin can do. Materialized views and time functions that are really helpful for marketing or data transference require someone who knows what they're doing, but those online articles don't make that clear. You'll really need to partner with a pro to make sure you get the most performant system while also adding any packages or functions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Open Source, Enterprise-ready Database"
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

Rich support for SQL, real booleans, JSON in the schedule with query support, rich plugin library, solid performance and reliability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Nothing, really. As a SQL RDMS PostgreSQL is quite good. I suppose that Oracle has better support for very large databases and clustering, but PostgreSQL is good enough for 1000's of concurrent connections on a 14Gbyte DB. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Postgres - a great database for Canvas LMS"
What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

Scalable, stable, reliable database app, easy to use. It provides a strong platform to work with databases for different applications, including the LMS (learning management systems). PostgreSQL provides stability and performance for large projects also. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Nothing major, needs good programming for efficiency. You can backup the database using the dump command, then you can restore different constructs and sections. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
