What do you like best about PostgreSQL?
Postgre SQL is a good open source tool to handle large amounts of data. It is cheaper compared to other tools available in the market. The installation process is very fast and smooth. Easier to integrate with a variety of ETL tools such as Informatica. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best part of offloading data storage tasks to PostgreSQL is the robustness of the database system, which is equal to any of the commercial systems. The design seems fairly monolithic compared to newer designs, so the system has a fairly large footprint and there are few options to reduce it. A modular system might be more suitable for today's cloud servers which are extremely compact in size, and demand software that is highly optimized in memory consumption.
