What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

Easy to install and integrate with the application. It uses standard SQL and also supports object-oriented SQL programming and we can also perform JSON-based data transactions with this dbms. Client-Server network architecture support is the best thing is with Postgresql and of-course it is open source DBMS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

Some speed issues with PostgreSQL when we perform data transactions on very large numbers. Backup features should be improved and PostgreSQL should provide some own GUI for DB operation, normally we use pgAdmin for the same purpose. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used PostgreSQL in one of my projects. Before that, I have not used postgresql. As per clients' requirements, we have to use the PostgreSQL database. So We learned it quickly Since I have worked with other SQL previously. And find it very easy to work with PostgreSQL. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

If you have worked with any other SQL, you will find PostgreSQL is similar to other SQL also, but the main advantage is it is very convenient for structured data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about PostgreSQL?

It is free and open DBMS software and has a good GUI feature. PostgreSQL is the world’s most advanced open source database. Developed over 25 years by a vibrant and independent open source community, PostgreSQL was born from the same research as Oracle and DB2 and contained comparable enterprise-class features such as full ACID compliance for outstanding transaction reliability and Multi-Version Concurrency Control for supporting high concurrent loads. On top of it, there is a vibrant community of PostgreSQL professionals and enthusiasts that your staff can draw upon and contribute to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about PostgreSQL?

It sometimes crashed when I open it in normal mode. I need to open it in admin mode to open it. It is considerably slower than MySQL, and it does not support the entire ANSI SQL 92' standard, much less the ANSI SQL 99' standard, which is widely used in the industry. PostgreSQL is not good when it comes to performance, and It is not much popular than other database management systems, making replication is more complex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
