The MySQL Could service is very simple to set up and much more easier to learn , compared to the oracle database.
New members could be trained in MySQL quite quickly and it offers an open source alternative with the support of Oracle .
We generally use MYSQL for our smaller databases . Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The major dislike is regarding support. Issues that one may encounter during activities like patching are harder to solve because there is not much literature as compared to other databases . Also , one will need to create a ticket for any issue on the oracle support site itself , and I've not been completely satisfied with the resolution provided by oracle many times .
