"Overall User Friendly"
What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

What I like best about the Optimizely platform is the ease of editing the variations to test in the visual editor. It makes it possible to run tests for those of us who do not have extensive coding knowledge. The support team was also very helpful in providing updates and answers to any questions about setting up experiences. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

The downside for our company was that we would run a test that was more complex than the visual editor would allow therefore needing development resources that we did not have available for testing. We felt like we could get low-hanging fruit wins, but were not able to get the big wins without coding. I would also have liked more support from our Customer Success Manager. We have had a couple since joining the platform, and they don't provide much benefit in the meetings. It would be nice to feel like we have an Optimizely expert partner, but a lot of the time I feel as if I understand the platform better than the rep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"A/B Testing Optimizely User"
What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

It makes it so easy to scale our experimentation program velocity, all while freeing up our engineering team's bandwidth and providing easy to read A/B test results Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

Sometimes there's a tiny lag between the control and the new variant's design - it's very minor, but can look a little off to users. I don't think it's meaningfully impacted results. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Rolls-Royce of Web Experimentation"
What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

Optimizely makes web experimentation easy to implement while remaining extremely powerful if you need it to be. The point-and-click web editor makes setting up quick copy A/B tests easy for even non-technical users to do, while the ability to add custom CSS and Javascript allow you to do just about anything you want. Setting up event/conversion tracking is easy to do. The ability to share links to preview and test individual A/B tests before they're published, as well as being able to share links to the test result pages without needing users to log in makes keeping stakeholders involved in how a test is doing easy. When I moved to a new company, I advocated for the acquisition of Optimizely for A/B testing right away. The choice was simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

I really don't have many dislikes of Optimizely's product. It has never failed me, and I have not run into any major technical issues that have limited me from running a test. However, I will say that their offering is not the cheapest. I really do think the saying, "You get what you pay for" comes into play here. Optimizely shines compared to the alternatives. What do you like best about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

It has a great set of utility functions, and you can send the preview link to your phone for testing mobile devices simply. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Optimizely Web Experimentation?

You must publish your experiment before being able to have the experiment run on every page concurrently. While you can do this behind a testing cookie, it is still not ideal for multipage testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
