Make sure you have a decent understanding of programming and mathematical models to truly understand SPSS. If you cannot grasp the automation fact then this program will cause you pain. It is definitely worth trying out. It has taken the problem of how to handle the complexity typically involved with making statistical models and worked to solve it, such that much of this unnecessary complexity has been removed. If you have big data, this software is great. It allows complex data modeling and visualization. Really great for use in presentations because the graphical output is beautiful.
